Marie Powell’s castle-hopping adventures across North Wales resulted in her medieval fantasy series Last of the Gifted: Spirit Sight (Book 1) and Water Sight (Book 2), set in 13th C Wales. Marie is also the author of more than 40 children’s books with such publishers as Scholastic Education and Amicus, along with short stories and poetry in such literary magazines as Room, subTerrain, and Sunlight Press. She lives on Treaty 4 territory in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she has recently served as the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild Virtual Writer-in-Residence, instructor for the Sage Hill Teen Writing Experience, and editor for the Opening Doors: Imagine anthology. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from UBC, among five university degrees. In her spare time, she experiments in gardening, medieval cooking, and cat whispering.
