Nina Munteanu

NinaMunteanuNina Munteanu is a Canadian ecologist and novelist. In addition to five published novels, she has authored award-winning short stories, essays, critical reviews and non-fiction books. Her works have been translated into several languages throughout the world including Greek, Romanian, Hebrew, Polish and German. Recognition for her work has included the Ecata Reviewers Choice Award, the Midwest Book Review Reader’s Choice Award, the SLF Fountain Award and finalist for the Foreword Magazine Book of the Year. She is contributing author of several online and print magazines and served as assistant editor-in-chief of Imagikon, a Romanian speculative magazine. Nina regularly publishes reviews and essays in magazines such as The New York Review of Science Fiction and Strange Horizons. Her award-winning blog The Alien Next Door hosts lively discussion on science, travel, pop culture, writing and movies. Nina’s published novels to date include Collision with Paradise (Liquid Silver Books, 2001), The Cypol (eXtasy Books, 2006), Darwin’s Paradox (Dragon Moon Press, 2007), Angel of Chaos (Dragon Moon Press, 2010), The Splintered Universe Trilogy (Starfire World Syndicate, 2011-2013) and The Last Summoner (Starfire, 2012).

Nina teaches university courses in science and environmental education. She regularly publishes in scientific journals and speaks at conferencees throughout North America and Europe.
